Transatlantic Exchanges: Driving Therapeutic Innovation in Oncology for the Benefit of Patients

by L’Institut Servier with support from Medscape Medical Affairs

Summary of work

Despite translational research being at the forefront of the quest to find new ways to end cancer, there is a need to support centres of scientific excellence to unite in collaborative discussion sharing latest advances. Transatlantic Exchanges is an industry-leading collaboration between L’Institut Servier, Gustave Roussy (Villejuif, France), Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (Boston, USA) and Medscape Medical Affairs to establish and support a global community of innovators across oncology, committed to accelerating new frontiers of clinical research by exploring all facets of care to realise a world where cancer is a curable disease. In 2022, cross-stakeholder cocreation designed, developed and disseminated cutting-edge education and discussion on a global scale. The programme leveraged a multichannel engagement strategy, faculty-led sessions focused on latest research advances in oncology and a delegate engagement hub (leveraging Medscape LIVE) uniting live and on-demand content in a flexible experience respecting all time zones. An active community of 509 oncology innovators in 80 countries has been established, with >1000 individuals registering interest. It is perceived as a credible and high value activity (100%) with 83% delegates/faculty fully committed long-term and several transatlantic research collaborations have already begun. Transatlantic Exchanges is just beginning and will continue for years to come.
