His recent experience spans go-to-market, commercial innovation, “above molecule” and digital strategies. He has a deep appreciation of the complex healthcare context; its patient, provider & payer systems; and their operational & regulatory frameworks, and how life sciences companies are evolving to support the future of healthcare. He is passionate about re-inventing how organisations across the ecosystem work together to drive value for patients, society and shareholders.
Charlie Buckwell is a seasoned business leader with >35 years of experience spanning the global pharma industry and life sciences professional services.
Charlie’s career includes >20 years of successfully leading senior teams, with proven ability to innovate, collaborate, and deliver impactful outcomes in complex and challenging environments. In his last full-time role, he was an Executive Leadership Team member at IPG Health, and previously Chief Executive of McCann Health Medical Communications. In these roles Charlie has led the development and scale-up of high-performing multidisciplinary teams, driven organisational transformation and digital innovation, built award-winning capabilities, and championed an inclusive, purpose-driven culture.
Charlie is now engaged on a growing portfolio of fractional senior roles across life sciences, healthcare and medtech businesses, helping to support growth, innovation and fostering supportive work environments where people can thrive and excel.
He holds an MBA from Lancaster Management School, where he focused on best practice strategy development and effective intervention in complex organizational systems.
Paul Simpson is VP of Market Access & Patient Activation at IQVIA UK.
He has extensive pan-European and US experience of pharma/biotech commercialisation and has held senior roles in marketing, sales and general management.
Paul is a staunch advocate of account management, using environmental understanding to derive practical solutions which help clients drive healthcare forward and ultimately lead to better outcomes for patients.
