Primary Care Respiratory Academy (PCRA)
Summary of work
Over the last 50 years, Cogora’s marketing and educational leading media brands have become the most trusted sources of medical news and education for over 220,000 HCPs. This community helps us to create innovative and flexible educational programmes and communication campaigns which deliver measurable, impactful outcomes.
The Primary Care Respiratory Society UK, a professional society for HCPs with an interest in respiratory care in a primary or community care setting, entered a strategic educational partnership with Cogora to improve respiratory education, as well as raise the society’s profile among the wider primary care sector.
This unique partnership led to the creation of the Primary Care Respiratory Academy (PCRA), which combined KOL-led educational events with an online education platform, offered to primary care HCPs through Cogora’s community and brands.
In 2016, the PCRA programme delivered 20 full-day educational meetings nationwide, educating more than 1,200 primary care HCP delegates, while the complementary online hub with CPD resources, news and respiratory information further extended the reach to an additional 20,000 UK-based HCPs.
The initiative was a great success with 95% of participants highly rating the programme. Pledge funds have already been secured until 2019, with an additional payer-focused component being introduced in 2017.
Judges’ comments
The PCRA is a programme that has proven participant satisfaction levels and effectively educated their target audience. It was great to see that the programme is being expanded and it had great behavioural objectives.
