Transatlantic Exchanges in Oncology: An evolving programme to establish a transatlantic oncology community
Summary of work
Transatlantic Exchanges in Oncology–a multi‑year collaboration between L’Institut Servier, Dana‑Farber Cancer Institute (Boston, USA), Gustave Roussy/Université Paris‑Saclay (Paris, France) and Medscape Medical Affairs. Launched in 2022, it was created to reduce barriers in global oncology knowledge‑sharing and accelerate translation of emerging science into clinical research and practice for patient benefit. The partnership combines co‑created annual symposia, a bilateral fellowship exchange, and an enduring digital hub with omnichannel outreach. Themes purposefully evolve with the science. During the period January 2024–June 2025, participation scaled markedly: the 2025 hybrid meeting had 394 participants from 66 countries, while the wider community now includes 892 innovators across 95 countries, with a further 1,500 expressing interest. Enduring on-line education has generated 4,945 unique views from 146 countries, with excellent reception: 97% rated the programme useful/relevant and >90% would recommend it to peers. Polling captured shifts in perceptions and qualitative feedback from faculty and attendees evidences new connections and collaboration intent. By utilising cross‑disciplinary experts, sustaining access to high‑science content, and enabling fellowships and networking, Transatlantic Exchanges demonstrates how international collaboration measurably advances oncology learning and lays foundations for earlier integration of innovation in patient care.
