From Chaos To Equilibrium: Transforming AAV Education Through Immersive Innovation

What if, like our planet, our body experiences a climate catastrophe, throwing its delicate ecosystem out of balance?That’s the experience we created by launching an immersive VR initiative for HCPs, transforming the usual ‘mechanism of action’ explanation into a visceral, first-hand experience.In ANCA-associated vasculitis (AAV), the body attacks itself. A rogue immune pathway silently damages blood vessels. TAVNEOS was developed to stop this attack near its source, by interrupting the cascade that fuels inflammation – but the mechanism remained abstract. Hard to feel, harder to explain.We didn’t need another explainer. We needed a portal. Our immersive VR pilot placed HCPs inside this planetary ecosystem, navigating surface inflammation and subterranean pathways to uncover the source of disease. Through this journey, clinicians could see, feel and understand how TAVNEOS restores balance, creating both emotional resonance and cognitive clarity. Launched at EULAR 2025, the experience went beyond education. HCPs emerged informed, transformed, and ready to change practice. Its success triggered global demand and a roadmap for broader rollout. By fusing storytelling, science and immersion, we made the clinicians feel the mechanism of action. And once they felt it, they never saw the disease the same way again.

Judges’ comments

CLS Vifor and Havas Life London picked a cased that required HCPs to immerse and understand via the Metaverse and then linked it back to the real world. It was genuinely interesting and showed a clear need. The outcomes and objectives were very engaging and focused. It was immersive and an enjoyable experience.
