Retention Patch Program - Retaining Children in Clinical Trials Through the Power of Patches!

by Innovative Trials

Summary of work

The Retention Patch Program, a collaborative initiative between Innovative Trials and the Oliver Patch Project, addresses the critical issue of patient retention in pediatric clinical trials. With over 30% of participants typically dropping out, the program’s goal is to improve retention rates by offering personalized, engaging experiences for children and adolescents worldwide. By providing a series of unique patches that celebrate each study milestone, the program fosters a sense of achievement and community among young participants, helping them remain engaged throughout their clinical trials. Launched in February 2024, the program has already been adopted in over 15 countries, exceeding its initial objective. It has received strong support from sponsors such as Moderna and Syneos Health. Data-driven insights have allowed us to refine the program’s structure, enhancing its effectiveness and reach. The program’s success is demonstrated through increased retention rates, positive feedback from participants, and growing international adoption. By combining expertise in clinical trial retention with a commitment to patient-centered care, the Retention Patch Program not only addresses a significant challenge in clinical research but also creates lasting positive impacts on the lives of young patients globally.
