Lung Unlimited: Driving Scientific Exchange with Urgency and Imagination
Summary of work
Navigating the rapidly evolving lung cancer landscape is a daunting challenge for healthcare professionals. With a constant stream of new clinical trials, drug approvals, and guideline updates, staying informed can feel overwhelming. Alongside this, the composition of multidisciplinary teams managing lung cancer are evolving. In this dynamic environment, clients and experts agree: a holistic approach to scientific exchange is crucial to deliver the best care.
Our goal was to build a community of leaders in lung cancer from across the United States to foster diverse thinking and empower clinically meaningful discussions – all while keeping health equity at the forefront. Lung Unlimited, an annual flagship 1-day, faculty-led program, was designed with a focus on driving collaboration to transform lung cancer care and improve future patient outcomes.
Attended by 60 national experts across two meetings to date, the success of Lung Unlimited is illustrated by the results of post-event surveys and interviews, expert engagement, and quality of recommendations. Insights gained and >85 recommendations made are being used to transform lung cancer care now and in the future.
This was just the beginning! We continue to engage and exchange knowledge with the expert community at Lung Unlimited 2025 and beyond.
Judges’ comments
This programme sets up the community around lung cancer for continued collaboration and partnership. It was a well-shaped submission with a lot of the right details, along with a good outline of behaviour change.
