PsO Let's Talk Psoriasis Video and Podcast Series
With support from Wilson Hartnell
Summary of work
Psoriasis is a chronic, systemic inflammatory skin disorder affecting at least 73,000 people in Ireland. For many people, access to specialist dermatology care is a critical step in taking control of their condition which has a wide-ranging impact not only on the health of their skin but the quality of their life. However, this cohort of patients are experiencing some of Ireland’s longest delays to access the specialist care they desperately need.
With a long heritage working in immunology, including psoriasis, Janssen Sciences Ireland UC prides itself in driving innovation, not only in the development of treatments but also in the creation of practical supports for patients and their families. In line with this mission, Janssen, supported by Wilson Hartnell, launched a first of its kind video and podcast series, PsO (clinical acronym for psoriasis pronounced ‘so’) Let’s Talk Psoriasis in May 2022 to support and empower people living with psoriatic disease and educate them about the condition as they await access to vital healthcare services.
The series was the result of in-depth research to understand and define the patient’s unmet need, followed by strategic planning and the formation of partnerships with key stakeholders to the final execution and launch.
Judges’ comments
The entry from Janssen and Wilson Hartnell looked at real specifics, with strong objectives. The learnings were good and a lot of qualitative references were supplied. The judges liked the very clear statements of need and the assessment of impcact of psoriasis on patients was bought together very nicely. The patient element really shone through.
