Transatlantic Exchanges: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Oncology

By L’Institut Servier
With support from Medscape Medical Affairs

Summary of work

Despite translational research being at the forefront of the quest to find new ways to end cancer, there is a need to support centres of scientific excellence to unite in collaborative discussion sharing latest advances. Starting in 2022, Transatlantic Exchanges is an industry-leading collaboration between L’Institut Servier, Gustave Roussy (France), Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (USA) and Medscape Medical Affairs to establish a global community of innovators across oncology, committed to accelerating new frontiers of clinical research to realise a world where cancer is a curable disease. The global programme has leveraged cross-stakeholder cocreation, a multichannel engagement strategy, faculty-led sessions focused on latest research advances in oncology (Year 1 – Advances in immuno-oncology; Year 2 – Artificial Intelligence and Data Science in Oncology) and a delegate engagement hub (leveraging Medscape LIVE). The live events (2022, 2023) established a community of 892 oncology innovators from 95 countries with >1500 registering interest. This has been bolstered by on demand education receiving 4,945 unique views from participants in 146 countries in 12 months. It is perceived as credible and high value (100%) with 83% delegates/faculty committed long-term, 5 transatlantic fellow/mentor exchange partnerships have been independently established and several research collaborations have already begun.
